Godfr(i)edus1 Wynge)(15370) was born in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts Sept. 26, 1721 [9th month, 26, 1721].(15371) The History of Danby says that "Joseph (Matthew) came from Dartmouth in 1775 and that he died in 1810, at the age of 90 years and that he had giles, Matthew, Ruth, Elizabeth and Mary. According to this history, he and his son Giles settled on the farm owned in 1869 by A. A. Matthewson in Danby. Matthew is mentioned in his father's will made in 1778, and also in the U. S. Census of 1790, when he was reported in Danby with a family of one male over 16, two males under 16 and one female.(15373)(15372)

He married Elizabeth Sisson in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, 24 July 1740.(15374) Elizabeth was born in Tiverton, Newport, RI 2 DEC 1723.(15375) Elizabeth(15376) was the daughter of John Sisson and Rebecca Lawton. Elizabeth died in Danby, VT.

Conflicting evidence states that Matthew was born 23 SEP 1721.(15378) It appears that Matthew removed with his family to Batemantown, Dutchess county, N. Y., where he was living in 1763, and that in 1775 he again moved to Danby, Vermont.(15380)(15379) In the town record of his birth the word blind is added.(15381)

Giles died 1858 in (Unknown), St. Lawrence, NY, at 103 years of age.(15397) He married three times. He married [poss.] Phebe Dunham.(15398) (Additional notes for [poss.] Phebe Dunham(15399)) He married Mary Jane Cornell in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, 25 MAR 1775.(15400) Mary was born in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts 16 January 1755.(15401) Mary(15402) was the daughter of Daniel Cornell and Elizabeth Allen. Mary died 6 APR 1790 at 35 years of age.(15403) He married Beulah Button about 1790.

(Toni Notes...Giles was possibly named for his great great grandfather, Giles Slocum.) There is nothing to prove anything like this at this time. It is something I am working on. Additionally, Giles Wing was only married twice.

He married Katherine Bullis 27 FEB 1782. Katherine was born in Manchester, VT 1766. (Additional notes for Katherine Bullis(15408)) He married Keziah Jenkins. Keziah was born in Mt. Taber, VT 12 JAN 1770. Keziah died 29 NOV 1839 in Granville, NY, at 69 years of age.
