Okay, I overdid it, but I have discovered it is difficult to do a page about your mother. In the whole scheme of things I have done without her much longer than I did with her. So, you can just close this page down or you can deplore my seeming excessiveness...but, hell, it's my site..I can do what I want.

Mom was born July 3, 1909 at Decatur, Macon Co., Illinois. She was the oldest child of Joseph Allen Wing and Ruby Dean Lowe. She had a sister, Mary, and a brother, Joe Jr. and way back in the day we did have some fun....my cousins and I. I never knew my grandparents (and neither did my cousins) so we had that much in common. Not to mention our tenuous family ties that could be broken by one of our parents uttering one wrong word to another parent or God Forbid, disagreeing on some small issue. Our lives were pretty much governed by who was mad at who at the time.

And right now...that is all I can really talk about. Silly isn't it? My mother died on April 17, 1972. My oldest son was 4 years old, my youngest son was 5 weeks old and my daughter had not yet been born. I still miss her. I remember the night she died and I thought to myself how empty the world would be without her voice. I was right.
