In Probate_______________________Jackson County Court to the Judge of Said Court The Petition of Sarah Smith of Jackson County, Wisconsin respecfully represents that she is the wife of one, Joseph W. Smith, who left the said county & state in the month of March 1859. That previous to such leaving he deeded to his children, to wit; Homer W. Smith now aged 4 years and Milan W. Smith aged 3 years - Real Estate to the probable amount of six hundred dollars - that other than that item Said father has in no- way contributed to their support. Neither has he paid any attention since that time, to their comfort and welfare or rented said Real property for their benefit. their said children have since their father left this state resided with their mother in said county - That the Real property of the said minors does does not exceed the sum of six hundred dollars as your Petitioner verily believes! That it is neccessary and expedient to have a Guardian appointed to said minors and your Petitioner therefore prays that she be appointed to said trust. And she will ever pray so.
