Hannah Wing
Daughter of Daniel Wing & Hannah Swift

Hannah Wing was born in Sandwich, Plymouth Colony to Daniel Wing and Hannah Swift on July 28, 1643. ..and she died February 27, 1682, at the age of 39. Hannah claims the distinction of being the first Wing descendant to be born on American soil. She also claims the honor of being the first grandchild born to Deborah Wing from one of her four sons. If Deborah Wing were still alive at the time of Hannah's birth...we can only wonder at the joy she must have felt to have held her granddaughter for the first time. How she must have wished that Rev. John Wing could be there to share that moment with her.

"Hanna wing the dather of Daniell wing borne the 28 July 1642"

Hannah Wing very likely had to assume the responsibility of her younger brothers and sisters when her mother, Hannah Swift Wing died in 1664/65...at least until her father Daniel remarried for the 2nd time to Anna Ewer in 1666.

Hannah Wing married Jedediah Lombard in Barnstable, Plymouth Colony on May 20, 1668. Jedediah Lombard was born Setpember 20, 1640 in Barnstable, Plymouth Colony to Thomas Lombard Sr.and Joyce Unknown. "Thos Lumbart Senr his Children Born at Barnstable his Son Jedediah born ye 20 Sept 1640." Jedediah was baptized at Barnstable on September 19, 1641. We do know that Thomas was a fisherman and that was the way he made his living...and we know that his regligion was Congregational. It may be noted that Hannah & Jedediah, nor their family, ever joined the Quaker faith.

"Jedediah Lumber & Hannah Wing Married 20 May 1668"

The Lombards(Thomas and Joyce) were among the first families to settle at Barnstable, and probably lived in the area known as Mattakeese.

Jedediah Lombard is mentioned as one of a hundred that were recorded as owners of title and property in Barnstable in 1670. At some point, Jedediah removed to Truro, Massachusetts, but he probably did not do so until after Hannah died on February 27, 1682 at Barnstable, Plymouth Colony.

The town of Truro, Massachusetts was incorporated in 1709. Jedediah Lombard is listed as among the first 19 men to own cattle in Truro and in 1732 he is mentioned among the proprietors of Truro required to keep fences. Whether Jedediah remarried after Hannah's death is unknown at this time.

Hannah Wing and Jedediah Lombard had 4 known children;

1. Jedediah Lombard, born December 25, 1669.

2. Capt. Thomas Lombard, born June 22, 1671

3. Hannah Lombard, born August 1673.

4. Experience Lomard was born in Barnstable, Plymouth Colony in April, 1675. Nothing more is known about Experience.
