Art & Dorothy Nash, circa 1957

Art and Dorothy Nash at their home on Division Street in Decatur, Macon Co., Illinois. Dorothy Nash, nee Goodpasture, gave birth to 14 children. Every one of them at home. A couple of them were delivered by Art who filled in when the doctor was held up, or like the case with their oldest son, had a difficult time getting through the snow. Delivering 14 children at home and cooking every day for everyone and making sure that the house was clean took it's toll on Dorothy. This picture was taken a year or two before her death on September 5, 1958. Dorothy died of a heart attack in her home at the age of 53.
