Sorry I haven't replied before now - we've been away for a short break.  I now have obtained Alice Nash's birth certificate and she was born 1 March 1854 Clay Lane End, West Dean, Gloucestershire.  There is NO father listed on the certificate and the mother is listed as Sarah Nash.  I'll list all the other info I have and see what you think.  I may have sent some of it before.
 
This is the Nashes that I have on the 1841:
WILLIAM NASH 30 IRON MINER
SARAH 25
CAROLINE 10
AMEY 8
EMANUEL 6
WILLIAM 4
MILSON 4 MONTHS
All at Clay lane end,Park end walk,Dean Forest,Glos 
 
Do you agree that the above family is also your Nash family?  If not, do you have a record of them on the 1841 census.  The location agrees with what's listed on the website and so does the ages of Emanuel and William.  The website has the following information from the 1851 census:

William Nash Son aged 12 iron miner born West Dean

I can explain the absence of some of the children from the 1841 - I believe that Caroline Nash was a servant on the 1851 - (evidence provided by Harry Nash).  There was a Caroline Nash age 20, born Newland, living in Monmouth, Coleford working as a servant.   I did find on Ancestry a birth record for a Milson Nash in 1841 and then a death record for a Milson Nash in 1843, both in correct area.  These certs would have to be obtained to confirm that it was indeed the correct Milson Nash but it would explain why he wasn't on 1851 census.  I have no answer as to what happened to Amey.
 
 
And this is them on the 1861 census.  Notice that Sarah is still a widow and her daughter Caroline (who was servant on 1851 census) is now back at home.  There is Alice (my ancestor) and another daughter Emma.  Not sure who Emma's father is either.  Would be interesting to find her birth certificate and see whether she was illegitimate like Alice.  Henry and Jeremiah are also there and their details still tie in with info on website.  Do you agree that this is correct family still?

Caroline Nash is there again and there are others listed as Grandchildren including Emma who was listed as daughter above.
